Biography
When you are a music lover, especially if you are a fan of rock music, then you must know about Willie Nelson. Willie Nelson was born on April 30, 1933, in Abbott, Texas. He is a six-time Grammy Award winner and an American music icon. In 1996, he won the Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award. In 2012, Rolling Stone ranked him number 12 on their list of the 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time.
Nelson grew up in a small town in Texas and had a normal childhood. Although his career has spanned decades, Willie Nelson has had a storied career of making music. And what’s even more impressive is that he was able to write and record his first song at the age of seven. However, this changed when he was about ten years old. He learned to play guitar from his grandfather and started playing at local dances. The guitar became his new passion and soon Nelson was performing at local dances. A few years later, Nelson realized that he wanted to pursue music professionally, so he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force where he spent most of his time as a disc jockey.
