Biography
Zac Brown is an American country music band that was formed in 2002. The band was originally called Zac Brown Band, but the name was changed to reflect the fact that the band had grown since its inception and no longer played as a quintet. The Zac Brown Band is composed of lead vocalist, guitarist, fiddler, and songwriter Zac Brown; bassist and vocalist Jimmy De Martini; guitarist J.J.
Zac Brown was raised in Dahlonega, Georgia, the 11th of 12 children. He learned to play classical guitar at age 7. As a teenager, he played solo gigs in local venues, doing country and pop cover songs. While growing up as an aspiring musician and songwriter, he also developed a talent for composing music. Zac Brown founded the camp to help young people like him. The aim of his camp is to make children more responsible and teach them how to be productive members of society. In his own words, he said that “no child should ever feel less than other”.
Zac Brown Band’s first album, Far from Einstyne, was released in 2004. It was followed by Home Grown in 2005. In 2007, the band released a live album entitled Live from the Rock Bus Tour. The same year, it also recorded a music video for its single “Chicken Fried”. The Zac Brown Band, a popular Southern Rock band, was originally signed to BNA Records in 2001. Their first single, “Chicken Fried“, was originally recorded in 2003 and included on the Home Grown album, but later re-recorded for their debut album The Foundation (2006). Zac Brown has decided to release this song as a single, rather than have it appear on the album that he recorded with Dave Haywood. The band found success with the title track, “The Foundation”, which was released as a single in December 2008.
